Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Massachusetts “Volunteer to Help Fight Medicare Fraud” – Radio PSA Campaign
EVERGREEN (no expiration date);
The Massachusetts Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) asks for your support in airing its radio public service announcements (PSAs) to recruit volunteers for community education and outreach programs. As the mean age of the U.S. population continues to increase, so has the incidence of scams that target the 65+ age bracket. Medicare loses more than $60 billion each year due to fraud, error and abuse. As the Medicare program continues to grow with an aging population, the prevalence of Medicare scams is expected to increase significantly.
The Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Program relies heavily on volunteer peers to assist seniors and help them understand how to “Prevent, Detect, and Report Medicare Fraud.” Each year, SMP volunteers work to ensure that the Medicare program will be there for future generations by conducting community outreach and public awareness initiatives to help prevent Medicare Fraud.
The best way to stop Medicare Fraud is to teach older adults how to prevent it from occurring in the first place. With more SMP volunteers, the Massachusetts Senior Medicare Patrol can assist more seniors and reduce the incidence of Medicare Fraud in communities across Massachusetts.
