Illinois Senior Medicare Patrol
“Preventing Medicare Fraud” Campaign
Program Description
The Illinois Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) asks for your support in airing its video public service announcements (PSAs) addressing Medicare Fraud. The Medicare Fraud Prevention campaign serves to raise awareness about Medicare scams and how seniors can prevent, detect, and report Medicare Fraud as well as report suspected fraud, error, and abuse to their local Senior Medicare Patrol.
Medicare loses an estimated $60 billion each year due to fraud, errors, and abuse making it a big business for criminals. When people steal from Medicare, it hurts everyone. The most effective way to stop fraud from occurring is to prevent it in the first place.
The SMP Medicare Fraud campaign includes 3 PSAs in English and Spanish. The PSAs encourage those who suspect fraud or abuse to contact their “local SMP” for help.
The PSAs are EVERGREEN (no end date) and available as 15-, 30-, and 60- second spots. The PSAs are provided in HD and SD formats.
