“Substance Use Disorder” Campaign
Evergreen (no expiration date)
Program Description: The TTHY PSAs, available in English and Spanish, are available on an EVERGREEN basis and promote key prevention messages. The use of drugs including marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine, as well as the abuse of prescription drugs and illicit opioids among adults is on the rise. The COVID-19 pandemic has increased drug use, which can lead to dependence and addiction, injury and accidents, health problems, sleep issues, and more. Mental illness such as anxiety and depression in adults 18-49 is also on the rise, signaling a need for professional diagnosis and treatment. SAMHSA offers resources to help listeners overcome their struggles with drug use and mental illness.
The Substance Use Disorder campaign includes three (3) PSAs: “Hiding Places,” “Can’t Be Seen” and “Free From Meth.” The PSAs direct listeners to www.samhsa.gov/adult-drug-use for more information and resources.
