Program Description: As part of their public health mission, the scientists and staff at the FDA work to protect the American public by providing them with the accurate, science-based information they need to use medications wisely. The information included in these FDA PSAs encourages consumers to visit www.fda.gov/drugs for answers on drug safety topics, including drug alerts and news related to drugs.

Campaign Mission: 

• Improve consumer awareness about how FDA makes careful, informed decisions about which drugs to approve
• Educate the American public about how FDA scientists and staff work to protect them by getting the accurate science-based information they need to use medications wisely
• Direct consumers to www.fda.gov/drugs to learn more about the FDA’s role in drug safety and to receive alerts and news updates related to drugs
