Compassion & Choices
“Care and Choice at the End of Life” Campaign
Evergreen (no expiration date)
Program Description:
California’s End of Life Option Act allows terminally ill adults with six months or less to live the option to peacefully end unbearable suffering. Seventy-five percent of Californians support having the option of medical aid in dying, but this law can be difficult to access.
The Compassion & Choices PSAs feature Dolores Huerta, civil rights activist and president of the Dolores Huerta Foundation; and Dan Diaz, husband of the late Brittany Maynard. In the PSAs, they share their experiences losing loved ones to terminal illnesses. They emphasize the importance of the End of Life Option Act and how access to the law can make a substantial difference in one’s end-of-life journey. The PSAs encourage listeners to discuss their end-of-life
care priorities with their doctor and visit CompassionAndChoices.org/California for free information and resources.
