Al-Anon Family Groups
“Help and hope for families and friends of alcoholics”
Evergreen (no expiration date)
Program Description:
Alcohol is a cause of family trouble for over one-third of Americans, according to the latest Gallup Consumption Habits poll. Thirty-seven percent report alcohol-related incidents have interfered with their family life, and about 1 in 10 children live in households with at least one parent who suffers from alcohol use disorder.
Al-Anon Family Groups, and Alateen for ages 13 to 19, offer a mutual support program for families and friends of alcoholics, and understand the importance of family recovery from the effects of alcoholism.
The PSAs below are available in English and Spanish. They remind viewers that if they have been affected by a loved one’s drinking, they do not have to suffer in silence and isolation. They just need to know where to find help. Al-Anon and Alateen groups in their community can help. More information is available at 1-866-200-0033 and al-anon.org/hope.
